Staff Augmentation for Pathlore LMS Implementations

Goal

Successful implementation of Pathlore's learning/competency management system at various client sites and where required, integration of the LMS with the client's Human Resources Information System (HRIS) or performance management system.

Challenges

  • Pathlore had a solid learning/competency management system but a small internal services team; we were brought in to augment their capability and enable them to install their system in more client sites in a timely manner
  • Sales personnel often glossed over the intricacies of implementation during the sales/selection process, leaving clients unaware of some of the issues that had to be faced
  • The implementation of such a system affected not only other systems that used data such as job descriptions, competencies, and training, but also critical processes that were already in place for requesting and getting training and improving levels of skills as a result of training
  • Many clients were using Excel and homegrown databases to accomplish the task, or had individual business units ‘doing their own thing,' consequently, change management was always an issue.

 

Solution

Cognitive Technologies provided skilled project managers and business analysts who:

  • Were trained on the LMS and its implementation and who worked closely with Pathlore's service director and internal project management team
  • Conducted a series of working sessions with client personnel to ensure they understood what had to be done and how it would be accomplished
  • Conducted process-redefinition sessions to help the client refine critical processes and job roles that would be affected by the LMS
  • Managed the technical implementation, monitored status, schedule, risks, and issues
